Advantage supports local praise dancer’s quest to repeat at Rhythm of Gospel Music Awards
May 8, 2019
Charlene Rush isn’t your average 20-year old. The local college student is an award-winning gospel dancer and Advantage Trailer is proud to support her trip to the 2019 Rhythm of Gospel Music Awards Show in July.
Charlene is the choreographer of St. John Divine Praise Dancers located in Joliet, Ill. and is raising money to fund her trip to the event in Baton Rouge, La. from July 17-21. Her team won the event in 2018 and is once again nominated for Liturgical Dance/Mime Team of the Year, the only team north of North Carolina to be nominated.
“The grace of God has allowed us this opportunity to appear at the event,” Rush said. “I love to praise God through dance and love to minister to others.”
The St. John Divine Praise Dancers will perform three times at the event, including behind some of the country’s most prominent gospel artists.
The Rhythm of Gospel Music Awards is an annual event featuring showcases, competitions, and achievement galas designed to be an evening of entertainment and recognition. The event is hosted by the National & Independent Gospel Music Association and gives independent gospel artists a national platform.
You can view some of Charlene’s work on YouTube and see her in action at a benefit event in Joliet on June 1. Best of luck, Charlene!
