The Ask

Route 44 asked us to create a stage trailer to serve as a mobile bar for Kona Brewing Co. It also had to match the brand’s identity, which meant the use of lots of natural wood, bamboo, and galvanized steel, in addition to the blues, yellows, and florals that Kona is known for.

How We Achieved It

One of the inherent challenges with stage trailers is how to direct the flow of foot traffic while maintaining safety of consumers. In this case, we achieved both by creating custom railings with bar tops along the two sides of the stage and steps running the full width. This created an open and inviting entry point and a spot for customers to stand and drink. Additionally, we attached bamboo skirting to the sides of the stage and the perimeter of the trailer to further the brand’s look and feel. To cover the wheel well, we built a custom cabinet with wood trim to match the flooring and galvanized steel facing wrapped in brand graphics. At the front of the trailer, we covered the tongue with a wooden platform, creating a photo opp with branded surf boards.

The Result

The final product turned out exactly like the client’s initial rendering. The trailer launched at Anheuser-Busch’s annual event, and since then it has activated at festivals such as Gasparilla.

Amazing. That’s perfect, Jim. Appreciate your attention to these details and the amazing finished product for our team.
